Our Mission
As technology improves every year so must we, the people. As our planet grows to adapt new and exciting, emerging technology which makes our lives more comfortable, convenient and cozy, little do we realize that it also opens up a vulnerability into the lives of millions. Are you 100% confident that your new “Smart Fridge” is safe and has been tested for vulnerabilities thoroughly? What about your Smart CCTV? Even your baby monitors? This is the inherent problem with rising technology. There is a major skill gap in the cybersecurity field and if we do not fill it, we introduce a major risk to society as we know it.
Established in February of 2021, Complex Security is a blog focusing on the world of cyber security – particularly the offensive side focusing on penetration testing and ethical hacking. It is ran by myself – a 4th year Cyber Security student. It aims to provide and help other aspiring ethical hackers and cyber security professionals on their journey to the top.
Previously, I worked as a freelance artist and animator and successfully built up my own freelance business from scratch called Artists Ink. Whilst doing that, I noticed a problem with the industry as a whole and decided to revamp and introduce a new system through my own personal website, instead of relying on freelance sites like Fiverr and Upwork.
During the creation of this personal website and the issue of creating a payment system and dealing with information that needed to be secured, I fell into the world of web application security and never looked back.
